Effects of human activities on ecological balance
A major feedback causing global warming and contributing to climate change is the disruption of the ecological balance from rapid climate change. This may cause wide-spread death of some plant communities in some areas that could further contribute to climate change.
Ways to rehabilitate the environment
As humans, we have continually found ways to harm the environment around us. Now, it is time to discover new and exciting ways to not only preserve Earth’s natural resources but also restore them through the act of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation can happen to almost every resource known to mankind.
Philippine Biodiversity: Status
Biodiversity as defined in the UNCBD is “the variability among living organisms from all sources including, inter alia, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part”. Biodiversity consists of variety of species, their genetic make-up, and the communities or population for which they belong.
Environmental Laws
Environmental Law is a complex combination of state, federal, and international treaty law pertaining to issues of concern to the environment and protecting natural resources. For example, environmental laws often relate to issues such as pollution of soil, air, or water; global warming; and depletion of oil, coal, and clean water.
