Effects of human activities on ecological balance
Human activities may disrupt the the "ecological balance" and increase atmospheric CO2 concentrations mainly by reducing the amount of plant life available to sequester CO2 and adding to the amount of matter available for decay (which release CO2). This can be somewhat corrected and many areas require offsetting new construction with green spaces in some places. This helps not only reduce global warming, but enhances property values, reduces heat island effects, improves recreational opportunities, and generally improves the quality of life. A major feedback causing global warming and contributing to climate change is the disruption of the ecological balance from rapid climate change. This may cause wide-spread death of some plant communities in some areas that could further contribute to climate change.
